Wood peg People

wood peg sculpted clay painted art doll tattoo circus sideshow
Meet Carmela, Santiago and Little Petey the circus monkey Yikes Carmela is a bit naked! But I could not bear or bare (cheesy pun) to cover her! haha I love them :D Check out Santiago's shark on his back! I painted them with washed down acrylics and watercolor pencils. Their hair is painted black sculpted tresses.
I have some little elephants that turned out super cute, I will be posting soon.

wood peg people

I Bought some Peg People awhile ago and never did anything with them. lol That is usually what I do I get so easily side tracked I buy supplies and then umm do nothing. Ah well I decided to give them a try. I crocheted a little bunny ear hat in black hemp with a super tiny hook size 5 tatting for the larger one and a striped knit stocking cap for the tiny bee size one. Well they are ok but not quite what I wanted. So again looking in my supply stash I found a fresh package of paper clay. Ooh now I was excited! haha So I sculpted over the pegs :)

I cannot wait to paint these! They should be dry by tomorrow. I am so excited I started sketching out what I will paint. This is something I don't usually do, I generally let it all flow organically.
These are some of the ideas for the larger sculpted peg dolls. I like the tattooed man and lady idea, sort of circus freak status.

For the little ones I like la Muerte of course ;)

First Sculpted Boy Doll :D

Finally I made a boy sculpted doll. I have made them from needle felting before but all my heads I sculpt where girly. I found that my lips are always too big and girly and for some reason boys look better with ears. 0_o
So Here is Aaron... He is sculpted woohoo, painted and clothed and ready for a cup of coffee and some moody music. lol
This is before his face and ears were finished.

here he is all finished :D I love his eyes!
I have been having a great time creating eyes. Some days that is all I want to do. lol Now I have so many I wonder if they will ever find faces? lol Etsy Photo shoot is next.

Emma

I am having so much fun making these smaller dolls :) They are all around 7" but I am thinking of going even smaller lol.
This is Emma she had a bad day at the tea party, her tea did taste a little odd. She is almost finished I need to make a tea cup for the poor thing. I am also running out of angora curls. I need to buy some more, I have some green, black and orange left. I love the white its more ghostly to me :D

Louisa

Louisa was once a world renowned Circus poodle Trainer. Louisa and her beloved pet Daisy have thrilled crowds for years, until one tragic day Louisa left this world. Unable to let go of her past she continues to thrill a different sort of crowd. ;)

HAHA I love writing the silly little stories that go with dolls :D I read on Regretsy all the time that they are cheesy and no one will buy from you....whatever.... I like them and it is my doll so phffff.

Autumn Doll

I think I am an eternal Autumn person. Almost everything I do from the colors I paint my home, the clothes I wear to the art I make has some Autumn flavor to it. Here in Northern Ca we have had a Spring winter storm; and I am making fall dolls. lol But I love the colors....so here is Louisa she is almost done I think I will have her holding a pumpkin. Not quite sure yet. Maybe pumpkin is too predictable? I have a birthday party to go to today so she will have to wait till late tonight or tomorrow.

Busy Busy

I have been so busy the last week. I have made 4 new dolls and I am so happy about making my own eyes! I started a batch of about 30 pair lol and then it started to rain ugh. I need some sunlight for the gel to harden. I cannot wait to get them done :) I finished my favorite little creepy doll to date, Laura. She is a little country which as my youngest daughter says all my dolls are :D She is holding a little duck that she does not want to leave behind while she enters the afterlife.

I dyed the hair myself too. I usually stay away from black because I do not like to use anything other than kool-aid lol I had a ton of angora curls in every color of kool-aid but black. Her hair is so soft :)

New Mini Dolls

I am so excited I found a new passion. I have been making these mini Art Dolls and just love them :D I make them from Living Doll Polymer Clay and have some of the eyes I made from Gel du soleil. I love this stuff :D I tried 2 part epoxy, Not a good idea, too many bubbles. I found a tutorial for eyes that used Fimo Transparent Gel. Does not work for me unless I want the eyes to have cataracts! haha. So I am sticking with the Gel. :D
Anyways I love these little dolls they are no bigger than 6" some as small as 4".
